Accessibility Statement

We want this website to work for everyone. Here is what we have done, where the gaps are and how to tell us about a problem.

Our aim

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, keyboard-only navigation or high contrast settings. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

What we have done

  • The pages use clear headings in a logical order, so they can be navigated by heading.
  • Text and background colours are chosen for readable contrast.
  • Images carry text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Menus, buttons and links can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Tables are built with proper header cells and rearrange into readable cards on small screens, so nothing needs scrolling sideways.
  • Text can be enlarged in the browser without content being lost.
  • Motion effects respect the reduced motion setting in your device.

Known gaps

Some parts of the site come from other organisations, and we cannot fully control how accessible they are.

  • The enquiry form. The quote and contact form is provided by a third-party CRM service and loads inside a frame. Some screen reader and keyboard users may find parts of it hard to use, such as labels, error messages or focus order.
  • The service area map. The maps on our contact and areas pages are visual maps built on OpenStreetMap tiles. It may not be fully usable with a screen reader or keyboard. The same information is given in text on the page: we cover Sheffield and everywhere within 30 miles by road.

If either of these gets in your way, you can reach us in other ways:

We are happy to take your enquiry in whatever way suits you, and to provide information from this website in another format if you need it.

Reporting a problem

If you find something on this website that is hard to use, please tell us by email or phone. Let us know the page address, what you were trying to do and what assistive technology you use, if any. We will reply, and where the problem is on our own pages we will aim to fix it.

Legal context

As a service provider we take our duties under the Equality Act 2010 seriously, including the duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled customers. If our website or our usual way of working does not suit you, tell us what would help.
